Here's an update to deal with faq's. Outside of one more road to gravel the show grounds and camp grounds are done! Registrations come in every day. We are getting close to past numbers on the show vehicles, but the swap has a way to go to be filled. please get the word out. I really want people to register so we can send out passes and not hare to deal with tit on show day.

The Central Wisconsin Military Show is on for the week end of august 11-13. Here's some details. Set up day is friday, venders will be arriving on thurs. Friday is for the participants. Buying and trading, trail rides, and a party with live music. Saturday the vehicle show and swap meet is open to the public 8am-6pm. During that time no vehicles may be operated. That evening there will be awards and live music for every one, public included. We are not advertising sunday as a show day because in the past many participants left on sat evening making a poor show for people that came on sunday. If the venders will stay for sunday we will return to a two day public show next year. The re-enactor encampment is on, with a large designated area that allows permanent constructions. The battle will return for 2018 if we can verify that a live round cannot be accidentally loaded. There will be vintage guns and artillery in the show and swap, just no live ammo or new sport rifles. The show is actually expanding to include awards for the show vehicles and re-enactors. A pin up girl contest and live music all weekend. The new show grounds are a much better set up than Iola. Lots of shade, closer camping, trail rides, fair style food court,Bar and hall, and access to wisconsin's largest auto museum. Show sponsors include Ho Chunk gaming, Never Forgotten Honor Fight, Disabled American Veterans, Red Bull, MMVA, VFW, Military Vehicles Magazine, Henry Rifles, and Central Wisconsin Visitors Center. Registration info online at @alfaheaven.com. There is no cost for show vehicles, re-enactors, pin up girls. Register to receive gate passes, arm bands, and windshield stickers. Registration will not be available once the show opens to the public on sat. The best military show in the midwest is alive and well. Come join the action in August.

    Ladies and Gentleman,

We are approaching Camp Ripley's Biennial Open House on September 17, 2017. On behalf of COL Scott St. Sauver, we would like to invite you to have an informational booth and/or static display at our Open House.

This year's theme is "Honoring Our Korean Veterans." Our intent is to give recognition to all our Veterans. Interest in this year's event has led us to anticipate an attendance of 4,000 or more people. We hope you can join us for this special occasion.

Timeline for the events is 10:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. Displayed will be booths, a car show, food vendors and military displays. We will have a ceremony from 1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. We respectfully ask that everyone shut down during the ceremony and make their way over to view the event. Following the ceremony, we will start up with the displays again until 2:00 p.m.

We ask that everyone set-up between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. You may set-up the night before if you would like, with prior coordination.

We will have a table, two chairs and tent space. If you would like to bring your own please let me know.

Please RSVP no later than August 16, 2017 to reserve a spot for the Open House. Contact Staff Sergeant Tim Krouth at 320-616-2714, 320-412-6237cell or timothy.c.krouth.mil@mail.mil

Registrations have been coming in. Very few from the club. Even if it is a no cost item, like showing your vehicle, we want them to register so we can send out arm bands and vehicle passes instead of having a big cluster*&%@#!! at the gate. As this is the first year for this event at this venue, it is very important that the club shows up, with their vehicles, in force.

There is some confusion out there about the show. Most things are the same as Iola. The biggest differences are, no advertised public show on Sunday. No motorhomes or empty trailers in the swap meet and no live ammunition. Yes, people will be arriving on Thursday. Yes, vendors will be selling to each other on Friday and driving mules and jeeps all over. Friday evening is a party for the participants including live music. Saturday, vehicles must be set up and cannot move from 8 am till 6 pm. Yes there will be various things, like a flag raising ceremony. Saturday evening is the big party;  trophies are awarded for vehicles and re-enactors, the pin up girl contest happens, and a different band will play until midnight or so. Sunday there will be no charge at the gate (not to be publicized) for those that show up, but participants will be packing up and leaving throughout the day.

The national convention is over. 4th of July is next week. After that we really start the radio/TV/printed press effort. Please get the club members geared up so we have an idea who's coming.

we appreciate all you are doing!

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the United States official involvement in World War One. 117,000 men and women gave their lives in World War One to liberate Europe from the Germans. This war was called "The Great War", and was supposed to be "the war to end all wars". However, history proved this not to be the case as the U. S. was at war again 20 years later in World War Two.

The Cannon Falls Military History Museum will be open this year with an extensive display of Spanish American War, Mexican Border War and World War One historic military items. Displays include: The Weapons of War, Women at War, Training Camp, Pioneer Infantry, Cavalry,  Air Service, Navy, Marine Corps, Spanish American War and Mexican Border War items. All items are from the associated era with no reproductions of remakes, making every item at least 100 years old.

This years display features the largest known private collection of WW1 militaria in Minnesota. Because this collection is so extensive, it is anticipated that the museum will be displaying this era indefinitely, bringing in different artifacts on a regular basis.  For all of you history buffs, this is a display that you won't want to miss. It will include items from the Indian Wars through the Occupation Of Germany after WW1.

Some of the uniforms of past area veterans on display this year include those from: George VanDenheuvel, Elwood Clarence Smith, Selmer Aslakson, Herbert Matz, Daniel Thompson, Samuel Ellison, Hoogan Brenna, Fredrick Arnold Perrett, L. H. Kath, Arthur L. Forsberg, Dr. William H. Rumpf and Otto O. Palmer.

There is NO CHARGE for admission to the museum. Please follow the museum signs that will be posted along County Road #24 west of the new highway overpass on Highway #52 and County Road #24 (about 2.5 miles). The address is: 33504 Warsaw Trail. Museum hours are: Saturday July 1st from 10:00AM- 2:00PMSunday July 2nd 10:00AM- 2:00PM and Monday July 3rd 10:00AM- 2:00PM and CLOSED ON JULY 4TH or open on other days by appointment.

The 2017 Edina 4th of July Parade is almost here and we're excited to have the Red Bull Historic Vehicle Association as a part of it!

Your current position in the parade is Unit #6

Unit numbers will be marked on Willson Rd (which runs parallel to Hwy 100, south of the Edina City Hall).  Please check the Parade Line-Up list to see where your unit is to organize.

One major change from prior years - the Edina Community Center will not be available for staging.  We are asking our military vehicles and veterans to stage at the parking lot of Our Lady of Grace (5071 Eden Ave).  Please inquire with John Currie (john@currieworks.com) for more information.

The Parade begins at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 4th.  The route will end at the US Bank parking lot on 50th.  Please remember to keep your unit moving throughout the parade and through the US Bank parking lot at the end.  The 2016 Parade Line-Up has been attached to this email.  A map of available roads, the Parade route, will be made available closer to July 4th as we are continuously getting updates as to the current construction going on in Edina.

If you have questions the day of the Parade, please feel free to ask any of our volunteers (they'll have matching t-shirts with "Volunteer" on the back) for assistance.  Or find our Logistics Tent at the Edina Executive Building on Willson Rd.

In the meantime, feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.  We're excited to have you as part of Edina's 4th of July Parade!
